Production Build Library System

PRELIMINARY

Production Build Library System Overview

The production build library system enables the construction of your own electronic component database “from scratch” including parametric content and symbols/footprints for your devices. A datasheet-based, file library and content taxonomy is also created.

Figure 1 shows a complete production build library system using Introit’s core product, utilities, and workflow wrapper and hints at how Introit’s systems will interface to the enterprise. This system is not only appropriate for a production build library system, but also data cleansing and data enhancement systems with small variations.

Production Build Library Components

Core product – The heart of all of Introit’s products is the data acquisition, binning, and extraction system that retrieves datasheets using an intelligent web agent, automatically places the datasheets into a file system built on the fly, and a semi-automatic extraction module that extracts selectable parametric content.

Workflow wrapper – The wrapper enables a simple workflow mechanism that controls the flow and monitors the status of job batching through the core product. The workflow does support user/administrator privileges, QA/QC monitoring and intervention, and customer care inputs.

QA/QC system – This module supports the ANSI/ASQC Z1.4, ISO 2859 standard for statistical sampling and variable AQL’s (acceptable quality level). The QC system is integrated with the workflow wrapper providing SPC (statistical process control) feedback down to the record level. The QA process is the final quality pass on content before it is released by production into the XML database back-end.

Viewer/GUI – This is the command and control interface for the data acquisition system, the symbol/footprint module, and utilities as well as the read/write interface into the XML database.

XML/back-end database – The back-end database is a native XML database that automatically supports inheritance and contains all of the parametric marked up content.

Symbol/footprint generator – The generator receives its parametric values directly from the component datasheet, and can rebuild symbols semi-automatically. The footprint portion of this module receives the processed pin-related information from the symbol generator and assists the designer in quickly building a footprint specific to his unique engineering needs.

Utilities – a custom taxonomy builder is available, and a standards-driven taxonomy is included RNTD 2.0 along with Introit’s Super Taxonomy.

Customer care – This module interfaces with your customers, and provides direct feedback into the production system on new products that need to be included in the component database and feedback on quality.
