Engineering Services Overview

Introit provides a wide range of design engineering EDA tool services. These services accelerate the electronic component design and the engineer’s task of quickly creating and documenting new designs – from schematic entry to schematic layout to design back-annotation.

  • Symbol generator – Introit can quickly and correctly generate symbols for even the largest IC’s because we extract IC pinout information directly from datasheets without keystrokes; we also support both the import of existing library investments as well as the generation/export of symbols both in XML format – edaXML and SI2’s PinPak specification – and the major corporate EDA design system libraries; we also support floor planning (fractured partitioning) for modeling larger pinout symbols with customer selectable rules.
  • Footprint generator – Introit can generate physical models of electronic components, including tolerances, pin dimensions, and links to EIA/JEDEC models; footprint calculations or formulas are based on IPC-SM-782 specification; land pattern templates include a an option to create footprints in the nominal or most producible form, as well as least material and maximum material.
  • FPGA/symbol back annotation – Introit will accept FPGA pin list library output files and back annotate the symbols found on your schematic.

In fact, our services provide validation of symbols, footprints, and schematics from widely scattered (and possibly record duplicated) information silos, and assist design engineers in finding the correct symbol, footprint, and/or schematic through services that centralize and consolidate symbols, footprints, and/or schematics. Below are some services that we offer that enable enterprise-wide central control of all design engineering functions.

  • Design evaluator – We will identify errors and inconsistencies in the design logic and include invalid power or ground planes, mirroring of polarized devices, terminations, and other hard failures.
  • Library evaluator – We will provide a report that links schematic symbols, printed circuit board footprints, and part numbering relationships; we will validate symbols and footprints guaranteeing that they have the correct properties, attributes, and conditions that meet corporate graphical standards.
  • Schematic design comparator - Identifies what was changed, what was deleted, and what was added between versions of schematic designs; reports are provided in easy to use web enabled format.
